I can't say enough positive things about Banana Bungalow. I stayed for 2 full weeks and had the absolute most incredible time. Gus was a great first impression and gave a great tour of the entire hostel. Tour guides Tanner and Steven were so friendly, knowledgeable, and overall fun guys to be around. The rest of the staff (shoutout Liv and Kim!) were welcoming and ensured the hostel was as clean as it could be every day!

The free tours are an amazing perk to staying at the hostel and I would recommend everyone to take advantage of them! For a hostel, the facilities were clean and I never found anything to be so dirty that I couldn't use it. The staff ensured quiet hours are upheld for those who like to get to bed early/wake up early.

If you're down for a party and a good time, this is the place to go! Everyone staying at the hostel were absolutely incredible and I made friends that will last a lifetime!

I heard so many negative things about this hostel that I was scared to stay but it was actually cute. It’s definitely on the wrong side of the island for everything but the price reflects that. It’s not “dirty” as many people suggested. It’s got great character, working internet and free coffee. It’s loud at times but you can just go inside and not really hear it and the sounds die down around 11.

If you’re a couple traveling in your 30’s, this is not the place for you. Place is good for solo young travelers wanting to socialize. Hostel is old and run down. The rooms are OK, decent but the shared bathrooms are unacceptable, old, dirty with feet towel that would be better in the garbage. It needs immediate renovation. The staff if very friendly and kind. The area isn’t nice from a tourist perspective. The common area outside is great with free coffee in the morning and strong wifi:) all in all, I will not come back.

After a rocky start because of problems with out light system, things were great! Terrance, the manager was very responsive and went above and beyond to fix it. The Hostel is charming with a nice lanai, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable communal area.

The hostel has daily excursions. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We ended up have a lovely time here. I rated it a 4 because the 10pm curfew could be enforced a little more. But honestly, it’s not that bad if you engage in the activities. You’ll be so tired that you’ll sleep through anything.

Free pancakes and coffee were great!

Awesome hostel! We all know Maui can be a little bit difficult to travel on a budget but The North Shore Hostel makes it possible and also does it with style! The hostel itself is very clean and the staff is very kind and hospital. They have free coffee & chocolate chip pancakes in the AM! The tours are fun and a great way to meet everyone in the hostel. Definitely recommend staying here to explore this beautiful island! Also they are walking distance for cute shops & restaurants.

We had an amazing time at the North Shore Hostel. Our room was exactly as described. The space was clean and I came back in the middle of the day and found the staff cleaning up the common areas. The other guests were respectful of quiet hours starting at 10PM. We felt the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable and enjoy our stay. There were pancakes every morning. We didn't realize there would be group activities that were free to join. We had a great time playing trivia with the group. We also joined on the WEEKLY Road to Hana tour–again for FREE! Zach and Carmelo organized a great trip for us and we had a blast checking out the best swimming spots. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay, especially if interested in meeting a lot of great, interesting people.

I was so excited to see the new Birkenstock Store in Wailukutown. I was going to order a pair from Amazon but shoes are difficult to judge if not in person. And returning?, blah forget it. So I am glad I didn’t because I stopped in and was quickly greeted by Leah even though she was also helping a customer to making sure I was acknowledged. Okay awesome start. She was a great multi-tasker because while I was there 2 more customers came in. It was like a party now. Leah talking to us all, answering our questions , we all made friends . It was fantastic. There were so many great colors and styles it was hard to choose just one but I bought these adorable “Ashley’s”. Leah took my name and number to contact me when they get in other colors. So 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me. I definitely recommend supporting this cool location. There’s parking in front and behind the building and easy access to shop entrance.

Was quite busy when my wife and I walked in. Didn't get asked if I needed help but I kinda had an idea of what I wanted to buy. Lady behind the counter was quite accommodating when I wanted to try different shoes in different sizes, considering she was already helping some other customers too. I admire an employee who can multi-task. I would definitely visit this store again to get work boots (Red Wings). Mahalo!

Excellent service and always welcoming. I have been going to Walgreens for years for my sons insulin and every staff there knows my face. They are fast and efficient.
